First ReconciliationFirst Reconciliation (confession) is now celebrated prior to First Eucharist, when the child reaches the age of seven or in the second grade. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee requires that a student be enrolled in either the Catholic day school or Religious Education program for two years prior to the reception of Reconciliation. First Reconciliation is a joyous family celebration. Click here for a calendar of meeting dates. Click here for registration information. Confirmation-YouthA Candidate for Confirmation in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee must be age 16 or older (Junior or Senior in High School). Preparation begins in the fall, culminating with the celebration of Confirmation. Preparation includes candidate sessions, a candidate/parent session and candidate/sponsor sessions. Requirements for Confirmation include a weekend retreat, service performed in the parish and in the community, and regular attendance at sessions. Each youth selects a sponsor who must be at least 16 years old, confirmed and practicing the Catholic faith. A parent may not sponsor his or her own child for Confirmation. The sponsor becomes a spiritual companion on the journey of faith. For the Confirmation 2006-07 calendar, click here. To register for the 2006-07 Confirmation program, click here. You will need the Confirmation registration form and the Celebrations of Faith registration form. Confirmation-AdultAdult Confirmation is for baptized adults who are practicing their faith, but have not yet been confirmed. The preparation has educational, experiential, retreat and service components. MarriageMarriage preparation is a process that begins with notifying the parish priest at least six months prior to the anticipated wedding date. One person must be a registered member of the parish for at least six months and a practicing Catholic. The process includes a retreat, “Foccus” sessions with a trained married couple, meetings with the pastor for instruction, planning of the marriage liturgy and spiritual reflection about the commitment. Anointing of the SickThis sacrament of healing is celebrated individually by contacting the parish priest when any Catholic is gravely ill, facing surgery, in a serious accident, or suffering from addiction or depression. It is not just for those in danger of immediate death and if possible, even in those cases, should be administered while the person is still aware that the celebration is taking place. A communal anointing is celebrated in church three times during the year. Communion to the HomeboundThe priest and pastoral care volunteers see shut-in and hospitalized parishioners regularly. Anyone unable to attend Mass or receive the sacraments in church due to illness or age should call the parish office to make arrangements. Reconciliation/ConfessionThe sacrament of forgiveness and healing is offered in the parish individually from 3:15 - 3:45 p.m. Saturday (West Site), 7:15 - 7:45 a.m. Sunday (East Site), and before the 7:00 a.m. Tuesday Mass (West Site), and anytime by appointment. Communal celebration of Reconciliation is offered at our parish or in collaboration with other parishes in District 12 during Advent and Lent.
