What is a Mission? A mission is a parish-wide spiritual “Retreat'” often lasting several days and frequently held during Lent. During the mission, an inspirational speaker invites parishioners into a deeper relationship with the Lord through prayer, reflections, music, and visual aids.
2026 Lenten Mission March 15 & 16
Exploring Anger in our Lives & Communities
The Bible acknowledges anger as a natural emotion, but warns us against letting it become sinful. During each of these hour-long prayer and discussion-filled sessions, we examined how we manage anger by following the example of Jesus, a perfect model of forgiveness.
The March 15 session held at St Vincent Pallotti West Church, discussed what anger is, how it is expressed, and its effect on the body and mind.
The March 16 session held at St Therese, discussed what we can do about anger and how spirituality and psychology can help us cope.
